THE STORY BEHIND “EVERMORE 23”

 

In 2021, God began His work of assembling a group of musicians with a desire to serve their Lord. It began with a guitar and one solitary voice, but soon grew into what you are experiencing tonight. As God brought people into First Baptist Church of Robinson, gifted musicians with a sincere desire for godly worship emerged and a common thread was immediately discovered. Each of these gifted people possessed a deep conviction to honor God with meaningful worship combining rich, sound theology with exciting musical harmonies.

 

As God continued to bless and lead our small group, there was a desire to be recognized in a way that would define our purpose. From the very beginning, the goal was to convey the idea of something that would last forever – eternal and unchanging. We were determined to have the music we produced symbolize God’s everlasting love, grace, and presence, as well as eternal life that is promised to all believers. We wanted our music to evoke a sense of continuity, faithfulness, and enduring connection with God that lasts beyond time…EVERMORE.

 

Early in our brief history, we came upon a song that seemed to define God’s guidance and care in a very special way to each member of our group. It is a song straight from scripture, which fits exactly the message we want to convey. It’s a very familiar passage which is oftentimes included into the arrangement of the song when we sing it. It speaks of God’s “Goodness, Love, and Mercy” even in the darkest of times. It is a very comforting passage that many of you may be able to recite. It is Psalm 23.

 

And so, flowing from hearts of musicians whose only desire is to bring honor and glory to their Lord, comes…
